Maria McKinney is an artist based in Dublin, Ireland. Her work considers the complexities that structure our everyday environment, where the unseen (microscopic, atomic, digital) is becoming ever more manipulable, in turn affecting our relationship to the physical. Maria invites us to contemplate these systems, coaxing visual stimulus from within their structure to the surface. Her most recent body of work considers the use of genomics in modern cattle-breeding, collaborating with genetic scientists and a pedigree bull-stud farm.
